Description

Cardboard Crash is a virtual reality experiment that questions the ethics of artificial intelligence algorithms in self-driving cars. You’ll find yourself a passenger in a self-driving car that’s forced to make a difficult decision in an unavoidable crash event. During the experience, you’ll contemplate who should be held responsible for designing and choosing the algorithms that have such a powerful impact on everyone involved.

Cardboard Crash was created by Vincent McCurley and the NFB Digital Studio Produced by the National Film Board of Canada. It is an Official New Frontier selection in the Sundance Film Festival 2016.
